Very nice quality, usability, with everything you need to view and understand what you’re seeing.
The Lab Compound Monocular Microscope, is a fun, exciting, and easy to use way to really see things on a microscopic level, that you can realistically do at home. With its noticeable good quality, all-inclusive kit and pictured book, this is one that worthy of your consideration. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying. I. Quality – This microscope is built very nicely, out of what appears to be good quality materials. It’s definitely many steps above the typical one you find a big box store. From the lenses to the lights, everything feels good quality. The screen is a little lower quality then the rest, but still decent and usable. II. Set-Up – Its super easy to set up and use the eye piece, with little set-up or reading. The screen and camera are a bit more complex, but still fairly easy with the pictured instructions. III. Performance – It works great, providing clear, easy to obtain images of blood or anything else on that level. The dials on the bottom to move the side around are very helpful versus my hand on the cheaper ones and the focus knob is smooth and precise. It come with everything you might need to start and a nice case to keep things safe. The included book is a great bonus, that shows pictures of different things to look for. Overall, this is a great choice for anyone looking to teach about things on the microscopic level or even to investigate their own body and see how things look. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it. If you’d find it helpful to see an up-close visual inspection of this product, I recommend you watch my included video in full screen or landscape. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words, well it’s a video! You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

Portable Microscope with Screen and Awesome Carry bag
I have always loved seeing the microscopic world. And when this became avail I had to have it . I was so excited when I had the chance to have a quality microscope and this did not disappoint (*) so the build quality is nice and the functions for the monitor are ok but I did have an issue. I could never get a good focus. Being an Optics kinda guy I took it apart and discovered the sensor had a grease on it. So lucky for me I had just got a set of sensor cleaning sticks so I was able to remove the grease. It did take a few tries but it worked. It also removed some debris that was on the sensor allowing me to be able to see everything. The screen does have a pink tint for everything I view. But what I can see with my eye though the eyepiece is clear without the ting of Pink. It had that pink tinge ever since I pulled it out of the box. But It was still thrilling to have an LCD on the Microscope. I know it would sound like a downer having that issue. It kinda is but I still can use the EYE piece. I do have an adapter that fits on the eyepiece that does not have the pink tinge and is clearer. So Im not upset. It's still a great microscope. So the First image is the print pattern of a box and I do not remember what the second image is but the third one is of the Sensor inside the stalk that goes to the beam splitter so we can see on both the Eye Piece and the Screen. It does come with Slides and covers. Lancets for drawing blood (I didn't show blood as it could get the review removed) but this even allows you to see really tiny swimming things.. Really fun to be able to see things you never thought you would ever see. Great Microscope and the screen could use improvement but totally not a deal breaker for me as it does work and after a little cleaning it works a lot better.

Not really up to laboratory standards
This is not the worst microscope I have a gotten off of Amazon. On the other hand it’s significantly more expensive for what appears to be the same parts. There must be one factory that’s making the bases and the lenses and everybody assembles them into slightly different but essentially identical microscopes. This microscope suffers the same problems and all the other ones do witches once you get about past 200 real magnification of the image quality really suffers in the field of view and brightness is very very dim. Some of this can be mitigated with immersion oil but you can’t create something where nothing exists in the lenses just aren’t that high-quality enough to give you a better picture and a larger picture. And although it’s not the worst one I’ve gotten it still doesn’t represent a value that I believe is worthwhile. At least it has the slide adjustment on the pedestal which can allow you to find your image. Some of them down which means you’re pretty much having to move the slide with your fingers so good luck.

Fantastic Kit
This microscope is by far better than any other more consumer oriented microscope that I have ever used. The build quality is great and the optical viewing quality is fantastic, the monitor quality is far from great but not awful. Overall this is a high quality tool that has been really insightful to use and learn more on a microscopic level and if you are a hobbyist or enthusiast when it comes to biology you might want to consider picking one of these up.

The optical/mechanical part is amazing! The digital/electronic portion is horrible!
I had high expectations for this product and I confess I got really disappointed with some aspects of it. Let's start with the goods: • the construction is very solid and the moving parts seem to be very precise. Impressive I'd say. Very smooth action for focusing and moving and adjusting the glass slides with specimens. • Two light options, for opaque and translucent specimens. • A box with 50 slides + a greater number glass covers as well • An interface to connect the camera to a computer or external monitor • A useful storage/carry bag The optical quality is very good and the 1000x magnification capability is impressive. You really can get to the point you are able to check a variety of unicelular beings, skin cells and at 1000x it's actually way too much to observe pollen, for instance. Now the bad, really bad part: The fixation of the monitor is a bit cumbersome. You literally have to disassemble the ball head support and assemble it again at the top of the microscope. Then you hook up the monitor. It's just weird. Speaking of the monitor, it is very low quality and produces an irritating beep every time you press any button to make adjustments and the beep cannot be turned off. There are not many adjustments, just the very basic ones (brightness, contrast, color). The internal camera is the worse part. Horrible quality and seem to be not even 5MP. Even if it was really 5MP, the fact that it outputs it's signal through a single RCA cable, which limits it's resolution to no more than 720 x 576 (less than 1MP). The signal it outputs through it's interface to connect to a computer is actually 720 x 480 px. That is still the worst part. The biggest problem is the horrible image with distorted colors and tons of grain. The camera functions in auto mode only with absolutely no possible adjustments. Pretty much useless. The best way to try and record or shoot (stills) a decent image from this microscope is via third party camera adapters to hook REAL cameras to the microscope via the observing barrel. The problem is that those adapters, at the lower end, cost close to half of the price of the microscope. Given the extremely low quality of the digital part of this microscope I cannot recommend it to anyone looking for a digital solution. Treat it as just a good optical/mechanical microscope that WILL need a third party adapter for a camera if you really need to get usable images out of it.

Decent power at a reasonable price
I didn't mean to order the 'live blood' version but I'm glad I did. The process has changed dramatically since I was a kid with my microscope out of the Sears catalog. My brother is a PhD in pharmacy and he's helped me with this. No need to make a blood smear on the slight like when I was a kid--plus you can actually see through these lenses and the illumination has the power enough to let you examine the live blood. Another dramatic improvement is the lighting. With my childhood microscope I used to have to tilt my desk light at an obtuse angle so I could see anything. The bulb in this was several hundred degrees and it very quickly got uncomfortably hot. The advent of LED has improved upon this dramatically. Seriously, most of what I've done with this is to sit and watch the screen while my PhD brother shows me all manner of interesting things but the quality of this device is extremely impressive given the price. Highly recommended!

sturdy
This Microscope came well package has a carrying case and a pretty large hefty construction manual I am new to microscopes I am still trying to figure this out it has a few wires I need to finish hooking up I would highly recommend this microscope this microscope is about a mid-range From a beginner to advance so I would say this microscope is good for all ages personally I wouldn't buy a cheap microscope if you have kids that want to learn this way when they get older that they will still be able to use this microscope instead of a toy microscope, Everything in the package was well fitted like they take pride in their product. Thank you
